For Holding…

For Holding… is a sub series in To Hold… It is a bronze, steel, and wood sculptural tool used to produce glass vessels in To Hold…

I produced components for this work with help from an amazing team at Pittsburgh Glass Center, Independent Casting, and Standard Fabrication & Forge. There are about 40 blown glass vessels, a video, bronze tools, and poplar tables. Since I cannot hold the glass directly I produced brinze castings from my body to compress and hold the glass vessels. Leaving the imprint of the body on the glass, and the glass in turn become the negative space of the embrace.
